How we rate credit cards
Ratings weigh the realistic value of the rewards against the annual fee, the size and difficulty of the sign-up bonus, and the ongoing APR. A card with a large bonus behind a spending requirement most people cannot meet is scored on what it actually delivers, not on the headline number.
